Peace through strength
That was written on a sign held up at the Republican National Convention. I’m not sure what’s more ironic, that sign or this entire election campaign.
I finally watched Palin’s speech yesterday. It was well-written and well-delivered, but without substance. It was filled with cheap shots, sarcasm and blatant lies. It was juvenile and expected of someone who is unqualified for the job trying to distract from her deficiencies. This was her chance to prove herself and show that she has some command of domestic and foreign policy and she missed it.
When did social ideologies take precedence over economic, foreign, environmental policies?
I totally agree with you.
Every time I see Palin talk, it makes me feel horrible. Horrible for Hill, because Palin is a joke. Horrible for Hillary’s campaign, horrible for everything that Hillary’s stood for, horrible!
“What’s the difference between a bull dog and me? I wear lipstick.”
Yeah, you look like one too.
I think the quote was: “What’s the difference between bull dogs and being a working mother?” But, whatever.
Obama and McCain are trying to sell the same thing …the American Dream. Just, different ones. Obama capitalizes on humble beginnings and McCain, with his five-years-POW -radical-American-pride-”I’ll do anything, and I mean anything, for my country”. I don’t think American voters really care about the economic, foreign, or environmental issues. They care about which dream is more authentic, and which dream they believe will come true for them. I look at these polls and I can’t even believe how high McCain’s approval rating is, especially when he is so.. flamboyantly dumbwitted. But then I think about what people are seeing – the talk, the dreams, the propaganda, and I don’t blame the media. I blame the party advisors who are making these slandering ads and perpetuating all of this nonsense. It’s sick. Almost as sick as “Drill, baby, drill.”
Millie,
I realllllllllllly dislike McCain/Palin, but you’re criticizing a marketing campaign!
I get what you are trying to say, but please stop dancing around the issue.
Also, by adding sooo much unnecessary context, “And so much more”-ses, and “PPS”-es,—you bury the value of your actual message (e.g. “since when did social ideology override policy concern???”).
I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt here and assume that you don’t have a “Look at me, world, I’m expressing myself!” view of blogging. An easier option would have been for you to link us to a similar article (trust me, there are thousands of them floating around Google right now) and simply write below it, “Hey guys. I agree with this. Read it! – Millie”. Saves YOU time, too
If you weren’t trying to make a serious statement, then fine.
..You could have taken the time to make this post a little funnier, at least.
…
But seriously, enough with your soccer mom punditry.
You’re a little too old to be writing cutesy Op-Ed pieces, aren’t you?
PS: Dude, so when are you going back to LA??
Ugh Zuodi, my toughest and favorite critic. I’ll give YOU the benefit of the doubt and take your suggestions and the fact that you think I’m funny. Really though–soccer mom punditry? And in MIllie fashion, here’s one of my “PPS-es”: September 20th.
