Z: I was just reading your blog
Z: and giggling at your stupid idealism
I don’t know what he’s referring to. There’s no idealism here. I keep it real.
The tree planting went well yesterday morning, though that was the hardest planting so far. Who knew digging mud was so hard? Two volunteers got their shoes stuck in the mud and I have a genuine pair of vintage jeans. Most of the volunteers were workers from Intel who were halfway forced (I’m assuming) to come because they got an e-mail from their boss who apparently supports our tree planting efforts. In addition to the satisfaction of looking at all the trees afterwards, I usually meet really interesting, not always quirky or peculiar, sometimes just very normal people, but nonetheless interesting people at the plantings. I met Sue, a nice Chinese woman, yesterday, these two 12-year olds who talked incessantly and thought all the boys at their school were dumb last Saturday, an overly eccentric asian woman who was called Mama and owned geese at another planting.. Thanks A for coming, I am glad you had the chance to assert your masculinity with that axe.
Last night was spent with M, K and S, trying to fish in the windy rain. You see, rain isn’t bad by itself, it minds its own business and just heads one direction, down. It’s only when it’s with that wind that it becomes unpredictable and scattered. Maybe this is another metaphor and we’re the rain waiting for that wind. The rest of the day was spent with N and that’s always enjoyable.
PS. I think I need to get another job. I don’t know I’ve gotten this far with expenses towards almost weekly shopping sprees, gas for my car, my gym membership, domain expenses, expresso, etc.
PPS. When I say “vintage jeans”, I mean, my pair of jeans that are crusted with mud, poking fun at the whole concept of “vintage jeans”.
